Your browser saves copies of pages and images so they load faster. When ClaimWizard updates, those saved copies can stick around and show you old screens, blank panels, or buttons that do nothing. Clearing the cache makes your browser load fresh files.
Before you start
Every user can do this. Clearing the cache happens in your browser, not in ClaimWizard, so your security level does not matter and nothing in your account changes.
Clear cached files only. Leave Cookies and other site data unchecked. Cookies hold your sign-in, so clearing them signs you out of ClaimWizard and every other site in that browser.
Safari is the exception. It groups cookies with cached files in most of its menus. The Safari steps below say when you will be signed out.
Try a hard refresh first
This fixes most stale-screen problems in a few seconds and deletes nothing.
- Open the ClaimWizard page that looks wrong.
- Press Ctrl + F5 on Windows, or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac.
If the page still looks wrong, use the steps for your browser below.
Phones and tablets have no hard refresh. Pull to refresh does not clear the cache. On mobile, go straight to the steps.
Chrome (Windows and Mac)
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on Windows, or Cmd + Shift + Delete on Mac. The Delete browsing data window opens. You can also click the three-dot menu at the top right and choose Delete browsing data.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Check Cached images and files. Uncheck everything else.
- Click Delete data.
- Close Chrome completely, then reopen it.
Older Chrome versions label this window Clear browsing data and the button Clear data.
Microsoft Edge
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on Windows, or Cmd + Shift + Delete on Mac. You can also go to Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, search, and services and click Choose what to clear.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Check Cached images and files. Uncheck everything else.
- Click Clear now.
- Close Edge completely, then reopen it.
If Edge sync is on, this clears cached files on your other signed-in devices too.
Firefox
- Click the menu button (three lines) at the top right and choose Settings.
- Click Privacy & Security.
- In the Browsing data section, click Clear browsing data.
- Set When to Everything.
- Check Temporary cached files and pages. Uncheck everything else.
- Click Clear.
Older Firefox versions put this under Cookies and Site Data and label the button Clear Data.
Safari (Mac)
Use the Develop menu. It clears the cache and keeps you signed in.
- Click Safari > Settings in the menu bar, then click Advanced.
- Check Show features for web developers. Older versions label this Show Develop menu in menu bar.
- Close Settings. A Develop menu appears in the menu bar.
- Click Develop > Empty Caches. Newer versions label this Empty Caches for All Profiles. The shortcut is Option + Command + E.
- Reload the page.
Skip History > Clear History for this. It removes cookies along with the cache and signs you out of every site.
Chrome (Android)
- Open Chrome and tap the three-dot menu.
- Tap Delete browsing data.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Check Cached images and files. Uncheck everything else.
- Tap Delete data.
Chrome (iPhone and iPad)
- Open Chrome and tap the three-dot menu.
- Tap Delete Browsing Data.
- Set Time Range to All Time.
- Tap Browsing Data and select Cached Images and Files. Clear the other selections.
- Tap Delete Browsing Data, then confirm.
Safari (iPhone and iPad)
Safari's controls live in the Settings app, not in Safari. This clears cookies with the cache, so you will sign back in to ClaimWizard afterward.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps, then tap Safari. On older iOS versions, tap Safari directly.
- Tap Clear History and Website Data.
- Choose All history for the timeframe.
- Tap Clear History, then confirm.
Safari syncs through iCloud, so this can sign you out on your other Apple devices.
What happens next
Pages load a little slower the first time while your browser downloads fresh files. Your bookmarks and saved passwords stay. Nothing in your ClaimWizard account changes, and no one on your team sees anything different. If cookies were cleared, sign back in to ClaimWizard.
If it does not work
The page still looks wrong. Close the browser completely and reopen it. Cached files can stay in memory until every window is closed.
You got signed out. Cookies were cleared along with the cache. Sign back in. Your data is untouched.
Nothing helped. Open the page in a private or incognito window. If it still looks wrong there, the cache is not the cause. Submit a ticket at https://help.claimwizard.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and include your browser, the page address, what you expected to see, and a screenshot. That gets you a real answer on the first reply instead of a round of questions.
