To change the default email app on your Mac, update the Default email reader setting in Apple Mail. This controls which app opens when you click an email address or a Send Email link in ClaimWizard.
Steps
- Open the Mail app from Launchpad or Finder.
- In the menu bar, click Mail.
- Select Settings. On older versions of macOS, this may be called Preferences.
- Select the General tab.
- Find the Default email reader dropdown.
- Select the app you want to use, such as Mail, Microsoft Outlook, or Spark.
- If your preferred app does not appear, choose Select at the bottom of the list, then locate and select the application in the Finder window.
- Close the Settings window.
Test it in ClaimWizard
Return to ClaimWizard and click an email address or Send Email link. A new message should open in the email application you selected rather than in a browser-based inbox. This is a setting on your individual Mac; it does not require a ClaimWizard permission change.
